A herd; a colony; a litter; a gaggle. A series of very different words with the same meaning. As a small company, we really value the one on one interaction that occurs with most of our orders. We also understand all too well how important our pets are to us. They are our family. We thank you for spreading the word, for your orders and for all of your feedback, good or bad. We look forward to getting to know you and your pets more in 2015. As a thank you for all of your support in this last year, we are going to let you into our world and introduce you to our little family: one member at a time!

From left to right: Steve, Kate, Ashley, Mary, Matt
STAY TUNED to meet the whole family!
February 20, 2015 - KATE
Name: Kate Role: Mutt. (finishing, design) Pet’s Name: Crowley & Basil What you love about your job? Probably going to dog shows and playing with all of the dogs. The team calls me “dognip” because when dogs approach our booth, they flock to me. Do you have a story to tell? Two of my friends and I were driving down Dufferin when we saw this little dog running around on the road. Cory and I hopped out of the van, helped chase her down with a friendly hipster named Bo, then got her back to her owner. Good deed accomplished. #familyfriday #TGIF #meettheteam

Name: Adam
Role: Tails and Professional Dog Cuddler (Sales and Professional Dog Cuddler)
Pet’s Name: Comet
What you love about your job? I can’t get over how cool these machine are, and what they can do. To see real people’s recognizable pet’s come out of them is even cooler. The results are amazing.
Do you have a story to tell? I went to Argentina in December this year and took a polo lesson. Before that, I had very little experience being on or around horses. It was a lot of fun. Horses are beautiful creatures.

Name: Martin
Role: Fixit Monkey
Pet’s Name: None yet…
What you love about your job: I get paid to do things I used to do for free. I get to take test print sample models home to my girlfriend, who LOVES dogs.

Name: Ian
Role: Hound Dog (sales)
Pet’s Name: My cat, Momo, recently took the journey over the rainbow bridge.
What you love about your job? Seeing all the beautiful & unique, patterns, markings and personalities of every pet model we make. Reading all the great things people are writing about us is pretty excellent as well.
Do you have a story to tell? My wife and I used to have a pet Iguana. He never wanted to stay in his cage. One day he actually was able to get the lid off and climbed out. The Iguana used to lay down on my computer monitor, letting the sun shine through the window and keep him warm. He would lean into it as it got warmer and lean back as it cooled down. One day he pooped in the monitor and it blew up. He was sad he couldn’t lie there anymore so he started lying in the window. One day he climbed out and got outside. He was living in the neighbours tree for I don’t know how long. Then one day, he was gone.

Name: Craig
Role: Digital Dog Whisperer (3D modeler/sculptor)
Pet’s Name: Kosmo
What you love about your job? I love being creative and always challenging myself to make the best quality art that I can, and seeing the customer’s reaction when they see the final outcome.
Do you have a story to tell? Sometimes Kosmo will come into work with me to help out the team. He mostly spends the day fetching his ball and napping, but overall, he puts a smile on everyone's face and brightens the day. Sometimes, I’m afraid he will steal my job. He’s just so darn likeable.

Name: Dea
Role: Pawperazzi and Woof patrol (3D scanning and events crew)
Pet’s Name: Tucker
What you love about your job? Honestly, for me, it’s seeing the look on people’s faces. It’s sometimes big smiles and sometimes people cry, but there’s always a bit of “awe-struck”!
Do you have a story to tell? Well we rescued Tucker through Toronto Cat Rescue, who found him in an abandoned barn in Kitchener-Waterloo. I try to help out with them when I can.

Name: Ashley Role: Brand Meowager/Pawlity Control Pet’s Name: Kobe (Mr. Kobe Pants) What you love about your job? Part of my job entails scouring the net for cute, funny and unbelievable animal stories, pics, videos, etc. It really brightens up sometimes-dull days. I also love when people write to us and tell us how much they love their PetPrint 3D printed models. I could read happy testimonials all day. Do you have a story to tell? Well, this one time, at brand camp… just kidding. We went to shoot our first ever brand video and there had been a bad thunderstorm the night before and the dog we were shooting had been scared and anxious and the owner had to give them a sedative as per the vet’s instructions and we were so worried that the dog wasn’t going to wake up or move for the entire video. Well, let me tell you, freeze-dried chicken treats really do a number on waking up a lethargic pooch. #TGIF #FamilyFriday #meettheteam

Name: Steve Cory Role: Big Dog (President) Pet’s Name: James and Sarah… oh wait. Those are my kids… close enough, right? What you love about your job? I love seeing people’s faces when they see the pet models. I also love how quick everyone is learning and how after about 4 shows, we can start to tell what makes a pet special just by watching them for a few minutes. Do you have a story to tell? Well, one day we decided to launch our brand at Woofstock. We had about a week to create and print branded materials, like brochures and business cards, get a tent, and ensure we had enough display models to take with us. And none of us had any idea what to say. Needless to say, we pulled it together and had a pretty pawsitive response. I’m so proud of my litter. #TGIF #familyfriday #meettheteam

Name: Hugh
Role: Catnip. (Secret Weapon) (srsly)
Pet’s Name: Phil
What you love about your job? I’m an animal person so it’s all fun and exciting to see the models. I love that I got a free pet model of my cat, Phil.
(Do you have a) Story to tell? Well Phil was a rescue that my roommate rescued from an abandoned house. She still has a little anxiety as a result of that but she’s really special and really cuddly. Another fun story is that I don’t normally get to design pets but one day for fun I got to design a Koala. It was very different than what I usually design.

Name: Brent
Role: Pet Pawsthetics Designer
Pet’s Name: None
What you love about your job?
Not only do I get to design something cool, but it also helps a living, breathing creature have a better life. It’s very rewarding to know that.

Name: Mary Henin
Role: Mixed Breed (Part Finishing Artist & Part Marketing Guru)
Pet’s Name: Currently I do not have a pet. But a few years back I had a dog named Oscar. He was a stray found strolling in the city on a tiny little island, called Cyprus; no one really knew what he was. We will go with a Mutt. Gives him more character.
What you love about your job? Not to sound cheesy or anything, but there are a ton of things I love about working here! I have always had an artistic and creative side and no, not like Michelangelo. I’m a more arts-and-crafts artistic-type. I’m creative in a variety of different mediums and this position requires that in order to work with such delicate models.
Getting to meet so many dogs at shows is the cherry on top of a fun sundae
(Do you have a) Story to tell?
The night I went over to meet this adorable fluffy stray dog, I sat on the floor as my parents spoke to the people who found him. As I sat cross-legged, Oscar strolled over and somehow fit himself in between my legs and looked up at me through his fluffy fringe. That was the moment my heart melted and knew I had to take him home.

(Yes this is me falling through a chair at Barkfest 2014!)
Name: Karen
Role: Sharing the good “mews”
Pets’ Names: Daphne and Ernie
What you love about your job? Paw-some pets and cat-tastic people! You can’t get the kind of reaction we get from pet parents without a lot of technical design work and creative finesse going on behind the scenes. In a 3D-printed model, the artists capture so much more pet personality than a 2D photo could do. I get to tell the story of PetPrints 3D – and it’s a woofalicious story to tell! How lucky am I?
Do you have a story to tell? Dog person alert! I have two dual citizenship dynamos. Each was rescued from the U.S. and brought to Canada for adoption. So privileged to be able to give them a safe and loving furever home!

This is Daphne!
Name: Kira
Role: Creative Cat Whisperer (3D modeler/sculptor)
Pet’s Name: Puddin’
What you love about your job? ALL THE CATS! Seriously, I really love cats! I love to adopt “unadoptable” cats; are they missing an eye? Do they have a breathing problem? 3 legs? Send them over! My cat, Puddin, is partially deaf, partially blind and has cancer. The doctor gave her under a year to live several years ago. She’s my grumpy, old girl and she will outlive us all.
(Do you have a) Story to tell?
A little over two years ago, my roommate and I saved about 10 cats from an abandoned house. I took them all to the vet and paid to have them all dewormed, spayed and neutered and to get them all their first round of shots. I also found furever homes for them through my Facebook connections. We kept one for my roommate, Hugh.

Name: Matt
Role: Barketing and Tails (Marketing and Sales)
Pet’s Name: Tequila (my beloved Bengal kitty)
What you love about your job?
The best part of my job is seeing people’s face light up when they first see their beloved Pet in a 3D print they can hold in their palm! When you combine this feeling of brightening someone’s day, with new technologies, 3D Printing and other nerdy things, you start to feel like one lucky duck.
(Do you have a) Story to tell?
When I first brought home my PetPrint 3D model of Tequila, I plopped it down right in front of her to see how she would react to it. I expected her not to know what it was, and display her usual disinterest in what I am doing or giving to her. But the case was quite the opposite. She immediately sniffed it and started batting it around, as if it were some kind of mouse or rodent. I’m very lucky she didn’t break it. Soon she was hunched down ready to pounce on her pray. Now my PetPrint sits high on a shelf where she can’t touch it because, not only do I not want her to knock my wonderful PetPrint off the shelf, but we all know 3D Prints are really not good for a pet’s tummy!

Name: Nat
Role: Growlphic Dogsigner (Graphic Designer)
Pet’s Name: Salem (yes, like the cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
What you love about your job? I like how kitchy and fun the PetPrints 3D brand is. Not many companies can get away with it in this day and age but we just embrace the “fuzziness” of the brand and go with it.
(Do you have a) Story to tell?
Well, my poor beagle, Salem (we call her Pee Pee Dog) pees on the floor every day. She’s getting to that age where she’s too old to get up the stairs to go outside on her own. Her tail still wags and she still gets excited to see us. It’s sad to see but we just love her to bits.

Name: Jess
Role: Petvertising Pawtographer
Pet’s Name: Buddy
What you love about your job? Getting to work with all of the animals! And the pet models are pretty awesome, too!
